Board & Train Programs

Our Board & Train programs are immersive lifestyle resets for dogs, not a quick obedience class or a sterile training facility stay.

Your dog lives right here with us in our home in Trent Lakes, Ontario, fully integrated into our daily life and pack routine. This means your dog isn’t just learning commands, they’re learning how to live calmly, respectfully, and confidently in the real world.

These programs are ideal for owners who are ready to transform their dog’s behaviour and create lasting change. We focus on structure, clarity, confidence, and balance, not just obedience.

Program Overview

Each program is customized to your dog’s individual needs and goals.
Most programs run 4–6 weeks, depending on behaviour and progress.

We always begin with a free consultation to make sure it’s a great fit for both you and your dog.

Programs

  • 4 week board & Train

    Best for:

    Dogs who need structure, boundaries, and off-leash reliability, but don’t struggle with severe aggression or extreme fear.

    Your dog will learn to:

    Walk calmly on and off leash (no pulling, barking, or reactivity)

    Understand: Sit, Down, Recall, Place, Heel, Out, and crate manners

    Stop unwanted behaviours: jumping, mouthing, counter-surfing, chasing

    Build confidence and independence

    Settle calmly on command

    Behave respectfully in public spaces (cafes, trails, stores)

    All obedience is proofed off leash, around real-world distractions, because training should work anywhere.

    Includes:

    Six hours of owner training (One 2-hour mid-program session, one 2-hour at pickup, one 2-hour follow-up)

    Sessions take place at our home in Trent Lakes

    Duration: ~4 weeks

    Price: $4,000 + HST

  • 5-6 Week Board & Train

    Best for:

    Dogs with more serious behaviour challenges such as:
    -Dog or human aggression
    -Fear-based reactivity
    -Separation anxiety
    -Resource guarding or biting

    This program provides the same foundation as the 4-week option, plus the extra time and support needed for deep behaviour rehabilitation.

    We focus on reconditioning old habits into calm, confident, and respectful behaviour.

    Includes:

    Everything in the 4-week program

    Targeted rehabilitation for aggression, fear, and anxiety

    One year of follow-up support

    Duration: ~5–6 weeks

    Price: $5,000–$6,000 + HST

For dogs who have completed training or need structured exercise and socialization, I also co-own Tails and Traills, where we offer professional Off-Leash Pack Adventures throughout the Kawarthas.

These hikes help reinforce recall, confidence, and calm behaviour while giving dogs the freedom to explore and socialize safely under professional supervision.
